Christmas tree time

The weather wasn't great last weekend and we were running out of weekends to go get the tree so instead of our usual tradition of going to the farm and cutting one down we settled on a pre-cut lot and right before it started to pour down rain we got our tree. It's definitely not perfect and has a few strange shaped branches but either way I love having the tree all set up and the lights on every night. You wanted to eat the tree at first...not sure if it's because of you teething or what but you were all over those branches :) You liked the lights in the beginning but now you are over it and it's just another thing in the house to get in your way. We finally have some presents under the tree wrapped and ready to go but I will tell you that the best gift of all was given to us five months ago and that was you. If I never get another present in my life I will be happy because nothing can top what you have given us and we are beyond blessed this year. We continue to pray for your health and happiness and are excited to spend our first family of three Christmas together. xxoo

First Thanksgiving...learning to sit up

We spent your first Thanksgiving at the beach house and it was perfect. We spent time pretty much all fascinated by you and watching you learn to sit up on your own. You are still a little shaky when you get excited about something and you'll fall over but it was amazing to see you just "figure it out" and then it was like you had known how to do it all along. It was really foggy out at the beach but we went for a walk anyway and bundled you up and your dad was getting some good snuggle time in. You also loved to play with Ryan's hair and even though he screamed..yes screamed because you have such a good tight grip I know he enjoyed every minute as well. Other exciting news is that your Uncle Ben proposed to his girlfriend Kari over the weekend and we are so excited to welcome them into our lives for good!! You already are so loved and love them so we know you approve too:)

Fun visit from the McClains

We spent the weekend before Thanksgiving with your Great Grandma Jackie, Great Uncle Brian, Great Aunt Nikki, and cousins Mercedez and Chase. They drove all the way up from Bend, and Salem to spend the weekend with us and we couldn't have had more fun. The weekend consisted of dinner and laughs in Tacoma, then off to the beach where we all had a blast (minus the DUCKS LOOSING)...maybe even too much fun :) We don't get to see them often enough living so far away but we have the best time when we do so we were THRILLED they made the long drive up and were able to spend some fun time together. You got lots of good snuggles in and we can't wait to go down to Bend soon to go see your cousins kick some booty in basketball.

Our happy girl

I had to devote a post to thank you for being "our happy girl". You truly light up our World but it's even brighter when  you smile. I think I've written about it before but you have been battling a cold basically for the past 2 months so it's been hard to see you miserable some days but even through the worst days you still manage to show that gorgeously, infectious smile of yours. My favorite is in the mornings when I'm getting ready for work and you are playing, usually with your feet these days, next to me and I'll look over at you and you stop whatever you are doing and give me a big cheese face. There truly is nothing better.  You also give Daddy huge smiles and even giggles when he comes home from work, which I know after his long days away from you melt his heart. We would obviously love you no matter what disposition you had but I think we won the lottery with you and your sweet sweet self. Love you happy girl!! xxoo

Rolling over

Happy girl giggling with me in the morning

Look MA NO HANDS!!

You and Dad making funny faces at me at the beach house

Dad sure does love you...he's changing your diaper DURING the hawks game!!

Another new thing you LOVE to grab at your toes now

My blue eyed beauty

We had such a nice long weekend and have finally moved into full on rolling over mode. You had done it quite a few times here and there but for the most part you were still content on your back. Then Sunday you started being more interested in it everytime we placed you on your back...and then Monday (Veteran's Day) you full on WILL not lay on your back. I got a few cute shots this morning on the bed of you on your back which is good cause who knows when I'll be able to even catch a moment of that again because every single time we laid you down on your back today, you instantly rolled to your tummy. It's so neat to see you struggle at first, then get there just fine but your arm will still be stuck to tonight...full on rolling over and arms out in front of you with ease. You are just growing before our eyes sweet girl and it's so neat to see you grow and develop. I wonder what's next?!? So proud of you baby girl!! xxoo

Months 3 and 4

Time is flying by...I guess that's why I completely have been slacking on the blog posting. Going back to work has been difficult but one of the best things about the last two months have been Grandma Chevalier being up here. She has been watching you any Tues or Thurs or both if I work those days, which means some weeks she stays the whole week with us and it's been FANTASTIC.  She really has sacrificed a lot of time, and has been taking the train up from BG each week and we couldn't be more thankful for her. Especially since you have had a cold for what seems like the entire last two months since you started daycare. It's been hard to have you so miserable on some days with everything from the sniffles, to an awful cough, to running fevers and throwing up. It's been hard but luckily with Grandma here she has been kind enough to watch you on the days where you are too sick and tired to go to daycare. Having her here has been more of a blessing than we could have imagined and I think the four of us have loved it so much we can't imagine what it's going to be like when she stops coming every week...I think the only one excited about that inevitable end is Grandpa :)

Things new going on in your world...Grammy bought you a little yellow duck that you love to suck and chew on and have long conversations with. You are very vocal, especially at 5-6am when you tell your dad and me all sorts of stories.  We have a light above the dining room table that I think you think is a person smiling back at you and you talk to Mr. Light (as we so lovingly refer to him now), and you laugh and giggle at him like you are flirting. You have become very interested in the kitties and try and grab hold of their hair everytime they walk by, luckily they have been quite patient with you. Even though you have been sick, you have still been such a joy and such a good baby. We truly won the lottery with you sweet girl and are so blessed. Thanks for always being such a trooper, your mom and dad love you so. xxoo
