Our First Trip Away

The plan was to head to Bend as a family to go visit your cousins and Great Aunt and Uncle, but you ended up getting a bit of a cold so we decided it would be best if you spent the weekend hanging out with Grandpa and Grammy Chevalier. We were anxious about leaving you for that long…more for our sanity not yours…but we knew you were in the BEST hands. So we headed to Salem first to go see Great Grandma Jackie at work at the Capital. It was really neat to see her at work but she was definitely bummed we left our prize possession at home. Then we headed to Bend and had an absolute wonderful time. We were greeted with flowers and chocolates for Valentines Day, watched Mercedez in her basketball game, watched Chase play in a tournament and also had some adult time at Winterfest. It was a blast and a great chance to enjoy some time together. Meanwhile you had a great time with Grammy and Grandpa and probably didn’t even realize we were gone. We got stuck in a little snow storm on the way home and had to chain up going through the pass which made the drive take much longer, which after a weekend away from you was torture. But we made it finally and you were such a joy to come home to.

First Real Snow

February 8th brought us some adventures in the form of snow. It started snowing Saturday evening and by Sunday morning we had about 4 inches. We took full advantage of the beautiful white stuff and ventured out and about. We went to breakfast and then spent the rest of the day having you feel and taste your first bit of snow and walked around the neighborhood to see all the fun snowmen/dogs/cats/etc. that everyone had made out of the unexpected snow. I am a HUGE fan of snow and loved seeing you get excited about it too. Happy we got to experience it as a family and have it be pretty much all gone by Monday so we could get to work safe and sound.

Seahawks Win The SuperBowl

Well you must be the best good luck charm on the planet because our favorite team the SEA-HAWKS won the SuperBowl this year!!! We have been fans forever through good years and bad so it's awesome and beyond belief that we finally won the big game this year. We had a fun SuperBowl bash with our Sunday regular football watchers, Heather, Danny and Lyla and Abbie and Josh joined us as well. There was delicious food, a great game, fun decorations and a whole lot of cheering. It was absolutely the perfect end to a wonderful football season.
