Two Months Old

Two months old…how is that possible. It’s kind of a strange feeling.  On one hand I feel like you have been here forever, that you have always been a part of our lives, and routines. On the other hand it feels like minutes ago that I was telling your dad that we were pregnant.  You are more fun every day, you smile all the time now and are much more interactive. I have the funniest pictures of your faces and there are many. You look older than you are, I’m sure part of that is all that beautiful hair, but you are also just a bit of a chunk (adorable chunk). You inherited your mom’s baby arm rolls, and your dad’s baby rolly-polly face. You love bath time, when we head upstairs to go to bed, snuggling in the morning while the sun is shining in through the windows, and smiling and giggling at your dad when he gets home from work. You love lots of noise it’s when you sleep the soundest, so when we have our weekly dinners with the Savvy family and Heather and I are chatting, Lyla is running around, jumping on dad and Uncle Danny, while their voices get louder and louder as the night goes on, you are sound asleep usually in your Auntie Heather’s arms. Above are just a few photos I took one afternoon because your fan-club was requesting more pictures (although I didn’t think it was possible that people would want more than I already put out there), you are just one incredibly loved little girl. xxoo

Fun at the beach

Our new very favorite thing to do is spend time at the beach house in Seabeck. Not only does it come equipped with a gorgeous view, hot tub, and relaxation guaranteed, but it also comes with a guarantee of seeing family and friends. Since we moved to Tacoma the one thing I miss more than anything is spending time with my parents. We were able to get down to BG once in awhile but nothing like being able to just pop over for a day visit. With this new beach house all that has changed and when Grandma and Papa Chevalier are at the house, which is quite frequently, we try and take as much advantage of them being so close as possible. It's also been a great time to see family and friends besides my parents that we haven't seen for awhile. There's a picture above of your Aunt Jan all the way from South Carolina. It was so special to be able to see her and Uncle Dennis while they were in town.
Since I'm off work right now for maternity leave you and I get to head out to the house a little bit more often than your dad...poor guy. However it's really fun to come home and see you get so excited to see you daddy after a few days being gone. I was able to capture one homecoming and you were all smiles. It melted my heart and definitely melted your daddy's. I hope you enjoy the beach house as much as we do, I think you are going to have years of fun ahead there.

A night away

We spent our first night away from you Han-Ban. Grandma Sandi got three tickets to a suite a pre-season Seahawks game and your Uncle Q is in town so it was the perfect opportunity. I will admit I almost didn’t go, I hadn’t even left you to go to the store let alone for 8 hours away at a football game. But your dad and Grammy convinced me it would be good for both you and me. So Auntie Abbie jumped at the chance to spend time with her favorite gal and the boys and I headed to the game. It was a blast! The seats Grandma Sandi got were fantastic; we even got you a signed calendar from two seagals. Luckily your Auntie kept me updated with pictures and I knew you were in the best hands. It was a great game and a fun night with your dad and uncle. The best part though was coming home to you and snuggling you till you fell asleep.

A fun day with mama

These are just a few pictures I took one day because I wanted to document how much fun we were having. You are always a great baby, and mellow most of the time but lately you have added super happy to the list. There are days when you are smiling at me all the time and wanting to play and talk and on those days my love for you is hard to put into words. One of my favorite new things is your smile. You smile most when I go in for kisses and you get excited with anticipation when I get a few inches away. I obviously love you during all of your moods, when you are sad, sleepy, or restless but when you are smiley it’s just beyond fun! Thanks for sharing this wonderful day with me baby girl.

Sleepy Girl

You are pretty darn cute all the time but I really can’t get enough of you when you are asleep. That sort of sounds awful…but it’s not because of what you might think. You have the most peaceful look on your face and you have great expressions when you are snoozing away. Whether it’s your afternoon sleepy smiles, morning snuggles on my chest, or your evening mouth-wide-open look, they are all adorable. I know I should be trying to sleep when you sleep or getting chores around the house done, but it’s just too hard to not capture these moments or put you down, or stop simply staring at you. And it’s not just ME…at night when I finally put you in your bassinet and you are snoozing away I will go to the bathroom and brush my teeth or grab a glass of water and I come back in the room to find your dad sprawled across the bed on all fours peering over your crib staring at his baby girl. As I type this now I have stopped several times to catch a glimpse of your beautiful self, snoozing away in your chair. Snooze away little one…snooze away.
