We finally got the word that we could head to the hospital and start the induction on Tuesday June 25th.  We got to Tacoma General at around 7PM and we were started on meds by 8.  Things started out slow and while we could monitor the contractions, they weren't painful or anything different so we tried to just wait it out and sleep.  It was pretty exciting to finally get to the hospital and Grandma Sandi and Grammy Chevalier were there until about midnight before they went back to our house to sleep for a few hours.  I was up pretty much all night and didn't get much sleep but your dad went right to bed in his little chair....preview of things to come :).  The next day Wednesday the 26th things started to progress.  The contractions started getting extremely painful and unfortunately I was throwing up blood in between contractions so it felt like I was just not getting any break...so we decided on an epidural.  I'll spare you anymore graphic details but lets be honest it wasn't a picnic but the epidural did an amazing job at helping with the pain and allowing me to rest even though the throwing up continued.

Lots of people were asking how things were going and everyone was anxious to meet you.  Auntie Abbie was sick and the only time she got to come into the room was in the morning on Tuesday and about 5 minutes into her being there my water broke.  The rest of the birth she had to be in the waiting room and I was so amazed that she stayed almost the entire time all the while knowing she wouldn't get to meet you because of being sick.  Auntie Heather, Uncle Danny and Lyla also came to the hospital and were also anxious for things to progress so they could meet you.  Grandma Sandi spent time keeping Abbie company and also spending time in the delivery room.  We were so grateful for all the support from our family and friends.  One person we could not have done it without was Grammy Chevalier.  As a former L&D nurse she was irreplaceable. There are no words to thank her for all she did...helping monitor you sweet girl and keeping your mama and dad calm and reassured. Last but certainly not least your daddy was fantastic throughout the birth.  I was a little nervous about how we would handle the stress together but he was a trooper and I will be forever be thankful for having him be there and for being so supportive and being the best partner I could have ever hoped for.  I'm beyond blessed for the people in my life.

Things didn't progress as we had hoped and scary for us you kept having decelerations that were unnerving for all of us.  I got to about 6cm dialated but then my cervix started to swell and then no change in dialation over the next several hours.  After monitoring us for awhile Dr. Boutry and all of us made the decision that things weren't progressing like they should and the safest option was to go in via c-section and get you out before things got any worse.  They prepped us and sent me off to the OR while your dad got into his scrubs and we were finally moments away from meeting our Baby Hannah...FINALLY!!! :) :) :)
